I have lived in Thunder Bay, Ontario on and off for many years. A city that is recognized worldwide as the murder capital of Canada.  I’m not sure what keeps calling me back, but here I am again.

From my time in a small apartment at Charry’s Corner on the curve of Simpson Street that leads either to Intercity or the heart of the southside business district, to living in the Crestwood Apartments in Westfort where my youngest child was born, to the majestic houses off Court Street on the Northside of the city where Lake Superior and the Sleeping Giant sit large for all to see.
 
Some would say I’ve lived a gypsies life, because I’ve gone where I was drawn to go, and entered circles where others feared to tread. I’m a curious gal who finds untruths hard to swallow and so I speak truth to power and more often than not, am punished for it.

I have survived but only because my belief in a power greater than myself is strong, and the gifts that I have been given by that power have helped me navigate a world where women still fear for their lives. I am Lori Paras and this is my website and podcast "SHE Life". Let’s begin to change that.
